Plain summary: We collect only your email address for the waitlist. We do not sell it, share it for marketing, or use it for anything other than notifying you about platform access. Black Swan Alpha is automation software — we hold no view on what you should trade, and we provide no financial advice of any kind.

1. Who We Are

Black Swan Alpha ("Black Swan", "we", "our", "us") operates a trading automation platform accessible at this website. We are not a registered investment advisor, broker-dealer, financial planner, or any form of regulated financial services entity. We provide software tools only.

2. Information We Collect

Waitlist and account registration: We collect your email address when you join the waitlist or create an account. This is the only personal information we collect during the pre-launch phase.

When you use the platform: We may collect:

Email address and account credentials (encrypted)
Broker connection tokens — stored encrypted at rest, never readable in plain text by us
Strategy configuration and backtest parameters you define
Trade execution logs generated by your configured strategies
Usage data (pages visited, features used) for product improvement

We do not collect: payment card details, government ID, or financial account numbers. We do not access or store your broker account funds.

3. How We Use Your Information

To notify you when waitlist access becomes available
To operate and maintain your account and platform access
To deliver the automation features you configure
To improve the platform based on aggregate, anonymised usage data
To send transactional messages (session reports, execution notifications) that you configure
To comply with applicable laws and respond to lawful requests

We do not use your information to send unsolicited marketing, profiling for third-party advertising, or any purpose not listed above.

4. Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for their own marketing purposes. We may share data only in the following limited circumstances:

Service providers: Infrastructure and hosting partners who process data on our behalf, bound by confidentiality obligations
Broker integrations: Only the data strictly necessary for the broker connection you authorise (e.g., order placement through your configured API token)
Legal requirements: When required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of users or the public
Business transfers: In the event of a merger or acquisition, with notice to you

5. Broker Credentials and Security

Any broker API tokens or credentials you add to the platform are encrypted at rest using symmetric encryption. We do not store credentials in plain text. We do not have the ability to initiate trades outside of the strategies and schedules you explicitly configure. We do not transfer funds on your behalf.

You remain fully responsible for managing and rotating your broker API credentials. We strongly recommend using read/trade-only API keys (without withdrawal permissions) where your broker allows this.

6. Data Retention

Waitlist email addresses are retained until you request deletion or until 12 months after go-live, whichever comes first. Account data is retained for the duration of your account. You may request deletion at any time by emailing privacy@blackswanalpha.io. We will action deletion requests within 30 days.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate data
Request deletion of your data
Withdraw consent to marketing communications at any time (unsubscribe link in every email)
Object to processing in certain circumstances

8. No Financial Data Advice

Black Swan Alpha is automation software. Nothing in the platform, its outputs, dashboards, strategy results, backtest reports, or any communications constitutes financial advice, investment recommendations, or solicitation to trade any financial instrument. We hold no view on whether any strategy, instrument, or market is appropriate for you.

9. Cookies and Tracking

The public landing page uses no third-party tracking cookies and no advertising pixels. We may use session cookies strictly necessary for platform login functionality. We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any behavioural advertising technology.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. Material changes will be communicated by email to registered users at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance.
